10 March 2026 Wasaline reports its best February since operations began in 2013. A total of 18,191 passengers travelled with the company during the month, representing an increase of 11 percent compared to the same period last year. One of the key factors behind the growth has been the popularity of the ice cruising concept. Several groups from across Europe have travelled with Wasaline to experience the winter landscape of the Kvarken region. "Our long-term marketing efforts in Europe are now starting to show results. We are seeing groups, particularly from Germany, coming to us to experience nature in a unique winter environment. This segment is growing every year, says Peter Stahlberg, Managing Director of Wasaline. He also highlights the positive feedback received from international visitors. "We are proud to attract international tourists to our region, and they have been very satisfied with the onboard service and the experiences they have had during the trip", Stahlberg continues. Minor adjustments in the timetable Due to the global situation and rising energy prices, some adjustments have been made to the timetable for April. The vessel Aurora Botnia will continue operating on the Tuesday timetable throughout April, and minor changes have been made to certain arrival times. On Mondays, the departure from Umea will be half an hour earlier than before. By driving a bit slower energy is saved.
