We are deeply grateful to the Philippines and China Coast Guards, the co-ordinating rescue centres, and all vessels and crew that have assisted - including vessels from the Group's fleet - for their sustained, professional, and tireless efforts throughout the search and rescue operation. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of our deceased crew members, and our thoughts remain with the families of the crew members who remain unaccounted for. We will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities and the ship manager to ensure all affected crew and their families receive the necessary support. This is an extremely difficult moment for the families, colleagues, and loved ones of crew members. We respectfully request that their privacy be respected. "K" LINE, in cooperation with KLPL, continues to assist with all relevant investigations. We will not publicly comment on the cause while investigations by the relevant authorities are ongoing. Incident Report 3 : KLPL-owned Dry Bulk Carrier "DEVON BAY" 26 January 2026 "K" Line Pte Ltd (KLPL) , a Singapore-based subsidiary wholly owned by Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. ("K" LINE), confirms that its vessel, "DEVON BAY" (IMO: 9622849) was issued a distress signal from the vessel on the night of 22 January 2026, during transporting nickel ore from the Philippines to China. Search and rescue operations by the relevant authorities and vessels from the "K" LINE Group fleet are continuing for the Vessel and the four crew members who remain unaccounted for. We would like to reiterate our sincere appreciation to the China Coast Guard, the Philippine Coast Guard, the coordinating rescue centers, and all supporting vessels and crew members for their highly professional and dedicated efforts in the ongoing operations. 17 of the crew member, comprising 15 survivors and two fallen, arrived in the Philippines on 26 January 2026 at approximately 7:30 AM JST today under the care of the Philippine Coast Guard, and have been safely received by the ship manager who are providing immediate medical care and support. Arrangements have been made for them to be reunited with their families, while we continue to support their care and recovery. "K" LINE, in cooperation with KLPL, will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities and the ship manager to support the care and well-being of the 15 of the crew members who have safely disembarked. We are also fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigations and will coordinate as necessary regarding any required measures. We respectfully request that the privacy of the crew members and their families be respected. We will provide further updates as additional information becomes available. Incident Report 2 : KLPL-owned Dry Bulk Carrier "DEVON BAY" 25 January 2026 "K" Line Pte Ltd ("KLPL") , a Singapore-based subsidiary wholly owned by Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. ("K" LINE), confirms that its vessel, "DEVON BAY" (IMO: 9622849) is the subject of an ongoing search and rescue operation after a distress call was issued from the vessel on the night of 22 January 2026, during the vessel's passage to Yangjiang, China from Zamboanga, the Philippines. Search and rescue operations for the four remaining crew members continue under the close co-ordination of the relevant maritime authorities. To-date, 15 crew members have been successfully rescued. Sadly, two crew members have passed on, and our deepest condolences remain with the families and loved ones of our fallen crew members. We are grateful to the China Coast Guard, the Philippine Coast Guard, the co-ordinating rescue centres, and all assisting vessels and crew, including vessels from the Group's fleet that responded in support of the search and rescue efforts. The rescued crew and their fallen crew members, have been safely handed over to the Philippine Coast Guard, and arrangements are being made to support their onward return home. We are working closely with the relevant authorities and the ship manager to ensure that the crew members receive appropriate care and support, and to facilitate their reunion with their families and loved ones.
