18 September 2020
With evolving restrictions on travel from the UK, unfortunately it is necessary to extend our current pause until the beginning of next year.
We have cancelled all Caribbean cruises until the end of January 2021 as well as all cruises from and to Southampton until February with the exception of Arcadia and Aurora, which have already been cancelled through to the end of their spring world cruises. You can see the full list of cancelled holidays here.
These further cancellations vary according to ship and itinerary. We’ve also taken into account complexity and length of itineraries, advice and guidance regarding ports of call and current air availability for fly-cruises. We are so sorry for the disappointment this will cause.
We continue to work in partnership with public health agencies at the highest level as well as Department for Transport, EU Healthy Gateways and Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the industry governing body, and hope to share details of our new approved health protocols shortly.
Whilst adherence to the protocols on board and ongoing vigilance will be critical, this will always be coupled with providing the well-deserved and memorable holidays for which we are known, with all the standout moments on board and experiences on shore. This is what we have always done and will continue to do.
Through Carnival Corporation, the world’s largest cruise company, we are leading the conversation on COVID-19 and the ‘new normal’.
Throughout the pause in our operations, we have been consulting and assembling the most brilliant minds in medical science and public health. As an industry, we are all in this together to reach the best possible solutions for our guests and crew as we work towards sailing again. To accomplish this we will be openly sharing insights from these scientific and medical experts.
Health and well-being on board
Whilst we are still working on the exact measures as the advice evolves, you can have the confidence that we will continue to have in place pre-booking and boarding health screening, the highest levels of cleanliness throughout the ships, as well as approved standards for the service of food and drink, entertainment and experiences on board and on shore.
For years, we have had in place many of the protocols now considered advisable for other social gathering venues, such as hand-sanitising stations and rigorous cleaning and disinfecting procedures. For years, we have also gone beyond those protocols by asking guests to complete a health declaration form and having a comprehensive medical facility on board each ship providing 24/7 medical care and treatment.
We will work closely with medical experts and global authorities to help us determine the best way to move forward while honouring our highest responsibility – the health, safety and well-being of our guests, crew and communities we visit, along with compliance and environmental protection.
