Feb 13,2025 MITSUI E&S Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takeyuki Takahashi; hereinafter "MITSUI E&S") has delivered a Methanol dual fuel engine 'MITSUI-MAN B&W 6G50ME-C9.6- LGIM-EGRBP' completed at MITSUI E&S Tamano Factory, to TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. (President: Sachio Okumura, located in Fukuyama, Hiroshima, hereinafter, "TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING"). A second unit is also scheduled for delivery to TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING during the current financial year. Methanol is easy to handle on ships, as it can be kept in a liquid state at room temperature, and green methanol*1 , which can significantly reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, is expected to become more widely used as a marine fuel in the future. The application of Methanol dual fuel engines in new ships have been increasing in recent years, with the aim of decarbonizing international shipping.
