Hanjin Shipping receives first 13,100TEU class containerships

Hanjin Shipping has announced today the delivery of its first 13,100 TEU class containerships.

Named “Hanjin Sooho (named after Sooho Cho, the Late Chairman)” and “Hanjin Asia”, these new vessels are the first and second of the series of nine 13,100 TEU class ships ordered at Hyundai Heavy Industries. These vessels are known to be equipped with fuel-efficient and eco-friendly engines that can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emission.

According to Hanjin Shipping, “Hanjin Sooho” and “Hanjin Asia” will be deployed in Asia-Europe trade soon after the delivery in April.

Meanwhile, the rest of the series is scheduled to be delivered this year and the year after.
