DHSC wins two Suezmax tankers order

South Korea’s Daehan Shipbuilding (“DHSC”) announced that they had singed total two (2) 158,000-dwt crude oil tanker newbuilding contracts with Istanbul-based company on 31 October 2019.

The newbuilding will be fitted with scrubbers to respond IMO 2020 and are scheduled for delivery in January 2022.

DHSC, which has been ranked 1st in the global aframax tanker market in a long time, started to enter the suezmax tanker market while they made contract with Athens-based company Maran Tankers in October 2018. After that, with successive suezmax contracts, DHSC have won a total of ten (10) suezmax orders so far after one year of entering suezmax market.

Officials at Daehan commented: "We’ve secured 22 orders for two years including this contracts" and also "We expect to achieve our goal in orders in this year."
