China Shipping Launches Ho Chi Minh – Haikou Liner Service
CS containers - 2012-11-08
China Shipping Group Company has established a long term strategic cooperation with the people’s government of Hainan to ensure the shipment of coal, mineral, industrial and agricultural materials to and from Hainan. In order to open a “silk road” on the sea from Hainan to ASEAN countries, China Shipping commenced a liner service between Ho Chi Minh city and Haikou with two 1036 TEU container ships. This liner service is operated solely by China Shipping with streaming time of 2 days, one week one voyage.
The logistic flow from Vietnam to Hainan has seen an increase with various categories, such as coconuts, rice, cassava starch, fruits, and rubber. However, there was no container line service. Nowadays, the commencement of the Ho Chi Minh – Haikou international liner service symbolizes a new stage of China Shipping’s contribution to this area and the construction of Hainan-ASEAN free trade zone.
