15 December 2014 On Dec. 12th, China Shipping Group and Guangzhou Port co-held a grand Maiden Voyage Ceremony to celebrate that the world’s largest and most advanced container ship 19100TEU CSCL GLOBE arrived Guangzhou Port for the first time. About 150 guests including Guangzhou Standing Committee member and Nansha District Party Secertary Ding Hongdu, relevant heads of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City Marine Bureau, Customs, SASAC, Port Service, Port Office, Commodity Inspection, Immigration Inspection and Bond Supervisory Department, CS Group director and president Zhang Guofa, CFO Su Min, vice president Yu Zenggang, Guangzhou Port Group chairman Chen Hongxian, vice president Chen Wanxiong, Guangzhou Development Group president Wu Xu, Guangzhou Hengyuan Group chairman Guo Xiaoguang, CSCL director and president Zhao Hongzhou, CS Bulk Carrier president Qiu Guoxuan and cargo owner representatives attended the ceremony and paid visit on board. Party secretary Ding Hongdu made a speech on the ceremony on behalf of the Guangzhou Government, China Shipping director and president Zhang Guofa and Guangzhou Port Group chairman Chen Hongxian also made speeches on the ceremony. Before the ceremony, Guangzhou City Mayor Chen Jianhua met with the visiting director and president Zhang Guofa and his delegation. For a long time, China Shipping has persisted in environmental protection and low-carbon construction and has focused on building green competitiveness. The new delivered CSCL GLOBE embodies the outstanding features in terms of fuel consumption. Compared to the normal 10000ETU vessels, it decreases 30,000 tons carbon release, which is equivalent to the result of planting 1,600,000 trees. The construction and operation of the 19100ETU series vessels reflects China Shipping’s low carbon and environmental friendly operation principle. 
CSCL GLOBE Guangzhou Port has a history of thousand years. As an important seaport for foreign trade, Guangzhou is now devoting itself to become a world class comprehensive port. China Shipping will keep cooperate with Guangzhou Port to co-build a transport service center, promote the industry chain to a more low carbon and high standard direction and help the development of Pearl River Delta industrial clusters.
