Naming Ceremony Held for the LNG Carrier CESI WENZHOU

On the morning of January 25th, 2018, a naming and vessel delivery ceremony was held for the LNG carrier CESI WENZHOU by Shanghai LNG, a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Energy, Sinopec Kantons Holdings Limited and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. Ms. Liu Qian, Deputy General Manager of Transport Finance Department of the Export-Import Bank of China named the vessel and cut her cable. Executives and guests from Sinopec, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, CSSC, the Export-Import Bank of China and related Classification societies attended the event as well.

With a length of 290 meters and a designed draft of 11.7 meters, CESI WENZHOU can carry up to 174,000 m³of LNG per voyage. It is fitted with DFDE and now is one of the world’s most advanced and environmentally friendly LNG carriers. As the fifth of six vessels delivered for the AP LNG Project, CESI WENZHOU is estimated to carry more than one million tons per year and will provide services from Australia to China’s coastal ports, effectively guaranteeing the energy supply to coastal areas in China.

CESI WENZHOU is the eighth LNG vessel put into operation by Shanghai LNG, and the sixteenth LNG vessel by COSCO SHIPPING Energy. Another 22 LNG vessels of COSCO SHIPPING Energy will be delivered before the year of 2020.
